Dear colleagues and friends,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee it is a great honor and pleasure for me to invite you to attend the 7th Conference of Romanian Association of Medical Laboratories with international participation, which will be held in Sinaia, 20-23 June 2012.

The Conference venue is a relaxing Carpathian holiday resort where we hope to produce a friendly and stimulating professional environment. As in previous years, leading experts in the fields of Laboratory Medicine will take part to the event.

Session topics will cover issues of laboratory diagnostics in hematology, biochemistry, immunology, oncology, microbiology and metabolic diseases. A prominent consideration is given to value added to Laboratory Medicine in the frame of managed care and quality management, providing the opportunity to stay informed of new laboratory technologies development.

The main goal of the Romanian Association of Medical Laboratories is to maintain and enhance high professional standards through improved laboratory policies and technology meant to support health care via laboratory research and good laboratory practice. We are fully aware of the complexity and depth of laboratory practice which has an impressive and rapid evolution in the process of translational medicine. Thus, specific goals of the event are to increase knowledge in fundamentals of new molecular investigation, areas which show the tendency of becoming routine in our daily activity.

Also we wish to stimulate the interest of our younger colleagues who are to take over the further development of our labs and work skills. Two awards, for best poster presentation and for professional activity, are prepared to be granted to most meritorious young participants.

Participants will also have the opportunity to visit the Clinical Lab Expo and explore the latest products in clinical laboratory instrumentation, supplies and services, automation and information systems, molecular and genetic diagnosis.
