Dear colleagues and friends,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee it is a great honor and pleasure for me to invite you to attend the 1st Congress of Romanian Association of Laboratory Medicine with international participation, which will be held in Sighisoara, 20-23 May 2015.
We are happy to state that since last year, an important step has been achieved, by creating a unique professional society, the Romanian Association of Laboratory Medicine with members from the former Romanian Association of Medical Laboratories and the Romanian Society of Laboratory Medicine. The Congress is organized under the auspices of the IFCC and EFLM, with the collaboration of the Romanian Society of Microbiology, Romanian Society of Hematology, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Cluj Napoca, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Tîrgu Mureş and the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Iaşi.
An important highlight of the event is to identify problems (either scientific or technical) we are confronted to in our current practice and to provide solutions and guidelines on how to solve them. Clinical laboratory is meant to support a high quality healthcare management, thus establishing standards for scientific and technical aspects of good laboratory practice is also one of the main goals of the Romanian Association of Laboratory Medicine and of this event.
As our profession is in a permanent and strong partnership with the clinical diagnostic industry, the participants will benefit from the exhibition of equipment, reagents, supplies, software and from the workshops organized by the clinical diagnostic providers, which is an excellent opportunity for the development and transfer of technical innovations to clinical laboratory professionals.
The Conference venue is the historical city of Sighisoara, listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. In Eastern Europe, Sighișoara is one of the few fortified towns that are still inhabited. With its rich cultural heritage and its authentic medieval architecture, Sighisoara is considered to be one of the most beautiful and well preserved inhabited citadels in Europe. The unique charm of this city will hopefully make people enjoy not only the scientific part, but also the social programme.
We will do our best to present to you a most enjoyable and exciting event.
I look forward to meeting you in May!
