Dear Colleagues and Friends,

The history of appearance and development of Medical Laboratories is actually the story of the evolution of Medicine from empirics to deciphering the disease etiopathogenic mechanisms and proves that the clinical laboratory is the actual source of medical authority.

From tasting urine, to biologic sample examination under the microscope, and to molecular tests, the complexity and depth of laboratory practice have had an impressive and rapid evolution putting a special pressure on lab doctors by technology development, instrumentation and lab management.

By modern standards, medical laboratories represent the place for fundamental biomedical knowledge application and training, performing daily hundreds or even thousands of procedures. Thus, labs depend on the medical institution, while the institution including doctors, students and patients depend on them.

I am honored and delighted to invite you to attend the 5th Conference of the Romanian Association of Medical Laboratories (RAML) which will be held in Mamaia, Romania, between June 16th - 19th, 2010.

Specific goals of the event are to increase work laboratory competence, to introduce new fields of laboratory investigation, to increase knowledge in Laboratory Medicine, to stir the interest of young doctors in clinical laboratory practice and research.

I assure you that the Conference programme will be comprehensive and stimulating and an additional exhibition of laboratory equipments and reagents will contribute to create an interactive working atmosphere.
